Description
Art print of a Japanese woodblock print, by Hokusai.
High quality art print printed on demand. Local and sustainable production.
Katsushika Hokusai is one of the most famous Japanese artists in the West. Author of the world-renowned work "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" (1831), the man who called himself "a madman for drawing" also owes his notoriety to his collections of sketches, the Hokusai manga. The discovery of his work caused a major aesthetic shock in Europe and influenced many artists, particularly Gauguin, Van Gogh, Monet, and more broadly the Japonisme movement.
